To any of you guys that are reading this right now who are covered in bars and studs from head to toe, my teeny tiny little piercing may sound like nothing to you but hey I'm 14 and this is a new experience for me!

Right so here we go!.........

When I was erm I think it was about eight or nine I had been with my mum to get my ear lobes pierced for the first time, I cant really remember what it was like but it must have been okay because on my 11th birthday I had my lobes pierced for the 2nd time in each ear.

So I'm 14 right and decide okay its time that I had 'another hole put somewhere in my body to adorn a sparkly piece of jewelry' as my mum put it when I told her my new idea!

I got a one-word answer and it wasn't yes boo hoo!

But as all my mates know I don't give up that easily so I dedicated the next four weeks to polishing my bedroom and begging my mum to let me have it done!

Eventually she gave in 'what a relief' and I began to plan with my two mates Abi and Daz (who wanted to get pierced as well) dates and times.

The week before we were going to have it done we went into the town and checked out all the different shops, prices, hygene etc and eventually decided on a small back street shop called 2001 in the town center.

I must admit I wasn't nervous in the week leading up to the piercing and we decided to go on the Friday (which was a school instead day-we weren't skiving I promise)

That day I was going out for dinner with my mum and grandad so straight after my mum took me into town to meet my friends.

I was really nervous by now which I must say was strange because I was so confident about having it done. At first I didn't want to go into the shop but after a few deep breaths I was ok.

My mum went in first and much to our embarrassment began to quiz the woman behind the counter on hygene etc and she even insisted on going into the back room where the piercing take place to have a thorough inspection. My mum is a nurse you see and I guess with that and having my best interests at heart being embarrassed was well worth it.

After what seemed like years of waiting my mum gave it the all clear and confirmed with the assistant that we could get pierced. So my mum tootled off to do her shopping 'thank god' and we spent the next five or ten minutes chatting to the assistant about jewelry and the procedure etc while the guy who was going to pierce us (sorry I don't know his name) found a selection of jewelry and cleaned every thing to make sure we didn't get any infections or anything.

We had to choose our jewelry and I would have loved a nice sleeper or something but at our school we are not allowed so I decided on a really small stud with a blue stone.

Me being the stupid one I said that I would go in the chair first but I didn't fancy going in on my own so Abi came with me. My stomach was going round and round like a cement mixer but I just kept saying to myself 'it cant hurt that much, because people get loads done'. I was really crapping myself and Abi said I went really pale. He said he was going to do it with the gun which was a relief because I've never been pierced with a needle but now I've been reading round and heard some of the 'gun' horror stories next time ill ask for the needle.

I was sat there going 'oh god' 'oh god' but the man reassured me it would be ok and it wouldn't hurt too much.

I closed my eyes and he counted to three, one, two, three, 'pop' I heard the gun fire but didn't feel a thing.

When I looked my ear was really red but it wasn't hurting at all.

That was it, I can honestly say that it didn't hurt at all apart from when I got outside and the cold wind hit it, also for the first few nights when I laid on it it hurt. It also bled a lot at one point but I think that was my fault because I tried to change the stud before it properly healed.

Well of course the addiction has started now, i'm going for my lobes piercing again next week and in the summer holidays i'm going to get my tragus pierced.... I can't wait.
