okay. this is the story of my life...well not my life but if you knew me you'd understand. ok, on with one of my "wonderful piercing experience".

I see some random girl at a rad juliana theory show while I was in Louisville. This random girl, we'll call her Pierce, anyway she had this interesting piercing in her ear. Since I was new to the piercing world I didn't know what it was called. I liked it a lot and wanted my ear done like it. So later that nite I got home crashed at my computer and started searching on the "web" for piercing...I found tons! Eventually I stumbled upon this page with the exact piercing I saw on Pierce. I was happy.

The next step was to talk my mom into taking me to get this nifty little bar through my ear. You gotta understand, I was 17 and she was my mom. First she wasn't too thrilled, and since I wasn't old enough to get it done by myself, this seemed to be a problem. She was in control. But since she is pretty cool we talked about it, and she said that it was my body and I'd have to live with it...and I was totally like rad!! I'm so getting it!! My dad was another story...sheesh. He knew that I had wanted to get it, but wasn't too keen on it. He thought that well it was wrong and if I was supposed to have a bar in my ear, I would have been born with it. But he couldn't really stop me, hell my mom said yes! (now both of my parents have piercing: mom has her nose pierced & dad has his ear lobe pierced...heheh)

Ok now onto the actual "piercing experience"...I stopped by body art emporium, which is in Louisville, KY and I live about an hour north of this place, I stopped by to see if they did the industrial, of course they did they are professionals, duh! But they dint have any of the barbells the right size for it. So they had to order some and said it would take about a week for the new shipment to arrive. Well it didn't it took about 3 weeks.... I was all pissed off, about ready to find another place. By some rare chance they actually got the barbell in, before I gave up. So my mommy and I drove down to body art emporium. I was psyched and ready to go.. Yes finally I will get my first piercing!! Wooohoo!

We got in the studio, and I felt a few little flutters in my tummy, but I knew it wouldn't be too bad and plus it would be totally worth it. I couldn't freak out now, after all the bragging and waiting I had done in the few weeks before. People were expecting me to do it and so was i. My mom and I filled out papers and signed papers. Then I was ready to go. I sat in the big chair leaned my head back while this huge Harley dude got all the crap together, the barbell, needle, gloves, cleaners, cotton.... everything he needed. He marked where he would put the needle through and had me check if that was where I had wanted it, and I sat back down. I leaned my head back once more on the chair and waited for him to start. First he cleaned it then he opened the needle and got the barbell ready. Then out of no where it happened the first hole was done....shit! Then bam the second hole was done...uhggg...but the worst part was when he pulled the barbell through the holes..eeeeek!! Then it was over.... it was fast and my ear was hot hot hot and red red red.

Even though it was throbbing, it was a good pain.....I had something to show for it and I liked the feeling it gave me. I felt more myself.

As time went on so did the healing and about 2 months after I had it pierced, I THOUGHT it was just about healed. But to my surprise it wasn't even close.....no way! It stared all freakin out and doin weird stuff.....it had this big growth on the bottom hole and was getting all nasty..So I started cleaning it really good again to see if it would go back to the norm. -in the mean time I went and got the Monroe piercing, at a different studio of course uncle bob's - anyway one nite while I was fast asleep my ear was transforming with out my knowledge. I suppose it went something like this: it had had enough of this bar running through it, and it wanted it to get out! But I wouldn't dare so my ear got all outta whack and grew this nasty nasty keloid, I think, and that nite it decided to bust open. I woke up that morning with blood and puss on my ear and on my pillow....how yuck! So I cleaned and disinfected it. My mom and I went back to Uncle Bob's and had them take a nice long gander at this piece of work, called my industrial piercing. They recommended doin some ultra cleaning and some vitamin E. they also took the bar out and put in two captive bead rings just till the healing process was done.

All and all it was an interesting piercing experience! So yeh I finally healed up and its doin just fine! And yeh I love it. So there ya go, a little glimpse into the piercing life of x.terrah-licious.x
