My Addicting Tragus |
| ||||||||||||||||
While I was at a cabin in the mountains with my family, a conversation started about piercings. Now these were the good old days when I could actually talk about piercing with my parents, because now since I've continually bugged so much about getting various piercings I'm grounded if I bring piercing up again. AnywayI decided I would get my tragus pierced!
My mom started calling around and it turned out that none of the places would pierce this unless I was at least 16. However, she called one last shop, which was The Wolfe's Den 2 but is now Mystic Visions. The lady (i can't remember her name but to my knowledge she owns the shop, and works there alone.) said she could pierce my tragus as long as I was in high school. We made an appointment for later that day and I was so nervous!
We arrived at the shop, and I walked in. There were other people browsing the tattoos, and I felt comfortable. We went in, and she had my mom fill in some papers, she talked to me about healing and about information regarding the piercing, she then took me to the back room which was really clean and told me to sit in the dentist chair. I did, and she got out all the stuff, which was all in seperate non-resealbe bags. They had been sterilized already. She cleaned my ear with iodine and marked where it was going to be. There was no chickening out now..
She pulled out a humongous clamp and pulled out my Tragus which actually hurt alot more then the initial piercing. She took the need and shoved it though.. It didn't hurt that bad to be honest. It was just pinch. She then pulled the ring through and with these words "I can do this, i can do this, i can do this" pulled out the ball that was to close the ring. This part hurt because she had a hard time closing the ring with the ball. All done, it oozed alittle blood but other then that it is beautiful and it was a wonderful learning experience. The only problem that I had with this one was that it did get infected, but only because I'm lazy and I didn't take the best care of it.. I know I know!! It got a bubble-like thing on the inside which, when popped oozed pus and blood. However, once this was cleared up I had no further problems and I've had it for almost a year. I recently went back to Mystic Visions for my other Tragus to be done. She followed the exact same procedure. She got out the clamp , cleaned my ear with iodine and marked my ear. She then compared the marking from my other tragus to this new one to make sure they would be even (cuz you gotta hate un-even piercings!). The phone rang the minute she shoved that huge needle into my tragus. She left me with the needle sticking out of my ear to answer the phone, which I will admit was an awsome feeling.. I mean.. a huge needle dangling from your ear.. awsome!! She came back, and changed her gloves which I give her two thumbs up for and pushed the earring in while she pulled the ring out. This one hurt alittle more only because she had a harder time with the ball. She had to pull and tug on the fresh piercing, which was quite irritating. I've had no trouble with this one at all. She also changed the ball from a small silver one to a black one in my other ear, and it looks absolutly great(i've included pictures in the tragus section).
I've got my ears pierced 4 other times from this studio and I find it very good, its clean, the piercer (owner of the shop) is excellent and I recommend you go to Mystic Visions if you're in the Albuquerque, NM area..She's awsome, clean, really nice and great at what she does. Have any questions regarding pain/procedure? Email me! anymlkrakr@hotmail.com Thinking about getting it done, Defenitly go for it, its a different non-extreme piercing. You'll love it, and for me, it makes me feel special.. you do not see too many people walking around with tragus piercings, now do you?
I'm working on my septum now because I want something more extreme, something that people will look at and wheather or not they like it they'll go "wow". Too bad my mom feels so strongly against facial piercings. So I'm fairly positive she won't let me get it done.. =*(
I've also found that after my tragus, i've become addicted in a sense to the adreneline rush you get, and to the pain and to the look. I love it! I also want my rook done. If your a wimp about pain... YOU'LL learn to love it. ;)
